What should we wear?
First and foremost I want you to be comfortable, so be yourself but bump it up a notch! Pinterest is a great way for finding clothing inspiration and I have put together a Pinterest board dedicated to helping my clients find the right style for them which I'm happy to forward to you if you wish.
In the mean time here are a few good tips:
When trying to co-ordinate outfits for the entire family, try to stick to a colour palette of three to four complementary colours
Avoid everyone wearing the same outfit. Mix it up! No matchy matchy.
Avoid huge logos that will date your images and distract the eye
Layers and accessories are a great way to show your personality - scarves, hats, jewellery, your childs most favourite stuffed toy....
Its wise to bring along a spare outfit for your little ones - if your kids are anything like mine they'll have made a mess of themselves within five minutes of walking out the door
Don't over do it with the fake tan - orange is not a flattering skin tone for anyone.
I highly recommend laying all your outfits out on the bed together at least a few days before your photo session. This way you can see exactly how your outfits look together (with enough time to change things up if needed); saving you some potential stress on the day of your shoot.
Still feeling lost? then feel free to send me through some photos of your outfit choices, I honestly don't mind and am more than happy to help. I want you and your family to look and feel good just as much as you do.
What is the booking process?
Once you've gotten in touch we will discuss a mutually agreeable time for your session. I will then email you a brief questionnaire to establish what kind of images you're wanting, along with a booking form and an invoice. Once you've completed the booking form and a $100 (non refundable but transferable) booking fee has been paid, I will set aside the time and date.
What happens if I need to cancel the session?
Its ok. I'm a mum, I understand that kids get sick and unexpected life events occur. The only thing I ask is that you notify me as soon as you know you're not able to make it, and we'll reschedule for another day. Any deposits paid will be transferred over to secure your new booking.
What if its forecast to rain on the day of my outdoor session?
Ahh yes, the weather can be rather unpredictable at times; especially in Victoria! If its looking like its going to be a miserable day with little to no possibility of it fining up prior to your session, I will call you the morning of so we can reschedule for another day.
When will I receive a copy of my images?
Your images will ready to view and download via a private online gallery within 3 weeks after the date of your shoot. I almost always have the finished product dilivered well before said timeframe but I like to give myself plenty of leeway to be safe.
What do I do with my images once I receive them?
You're free to have your images printed anywhere you wish but I will say this, in regards to quality, you get what you pay for. If you want quality prints then id suggest having them done through a professional printing company. I use Atkins Pro for all of my prints. They offer a beautiful selection of premium products - prints, frames, canvases, albums etc. As part of the service I provide (and because I’m a major print advocate) all clients have the option of placing a print order through myself via Atkins Pro. Please let me know if this is something you may be interested in.
